1. The Morning Banana Diet:
In Japanese retailers, it was nearly impossible to find any bananas when this diet first surfaced in 2008. The Japanese were completely bananas for them. You can have as many bananas as you want for breakfast along with a cup of water that is room temperature. You can eat whatever you want during lunch and dinner.
The banana diet was designed by pharmacist Sumiko Watanabe for her obese husband, who reported losing 37 pounds using this strategy. Over 730,000 copies of diet books featuring the morning banana approach would eventually be sold.
2. The Immune Power Diet:
Stuart Berger, the author of Dr. Berger's Immune Power Diet, claims that a large proportion of people have undetected food allergies that, over time, can lead to obesity and AIDS. He advised people to cut out dairy, wheat, eggs, yeast, maize, soy, and sugar from their diets, along with the other "sinister seven" foods. Theoretically, doing so would stop these concealed allergies from being activated.
Of course, science in no way supports any of this. In actuality, some of Berger's suggestions weren't only detrimental; they were also unscientific. In his book, he advised readers to consume large dosages of vitamin B6 at amounts that would harm their nerves. When Dr. Berger's own lifestyle choices eventually caught up with him, his heart had been severely harmed by his obesity and cocaine addiction, which finally caused his death from heart disease.

3. The Lamb Chop and Pineapple Diet:
Fad diets aren't simply a thing of the present world; Hollywood actresses were big fans of the "Lamb Chop and Pineapple Diet" in the 1920s. Lamb chops and pineapples were consumed. Mikhaila Peterson started eliminating foods from her diet after experiencing a string of ailments that seemed insurmountable. She eventually cut out everything but beef, salt, and water, after which she asserted that her health issues had been resolved.
Jordan Peterson lost 50 pounds over seven months by using the same method. Peterson additionally asserted that he had overcome other chronic illnesses like anxiety, melancholy, and gastroesophageal reflux. However, he cautioned that even slight departures from this diet could have negative effects. Peterson reported that after consuming some apple cider during this diet, his body suffered a catastrophic inflammatory reaction and that he was unable to sleep for 25 days.
So, is this diet a wise choice? The response was given by Professor Jack Gilbert in an interview with the Atlantic:
"Physiologically speaking, it would just be a terrible idea. a poor idea. Within six months, the majority of metabolic processes in your body would begin to be severely dysregulated; you wouldn't have any short-chain fatty acids in your cells; most gastrointestinal polysaccharide fermentation byproducts would stop producing; changes to cell receptors would cause cardiac problems; and your microbiota would be destroyed.
5. The feeding tube diet:
It's about as awful as you might anticipate. Through the dieter's nose, a feeding tube is inserted, and an electric pump continuously delivers an 800-calorie-per-day slurry of proteins, lipids, and minerals. Constipation caused by the diet may be treated with laxatives. Dieters believe that because the pump is constant and contains no carbohydrates, they never feel hungry.
It’s a very bad idea. Doctors warn that this diet can result in kidney failure, aspiration, lung infections, and the erosion of tissues in the nose and throat due to the installation of a feeding tube for days at a time. Because this is a "crash diet," or a diet intended to cause quick weight loss, people frequently resume their previous eating patterns after finishing it, putting the weight back on.
Crash diets are also related to the emergence of eating disorders. Therefore, if you're serious about losing weight, consider a slightly less extreme option than stuffing a tube up your nose.
